What do cycling and Formula-E have in common?

This carbon fibre bike and Formula-E racecar have two things in common; they are both at the cutting edge of technology, and both feature in events that involved the specialist services of Core Associates.
Recently, our team provided Overlay Management and Statutory Approvals support for the UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow, and Principal Design Advisor support for London events involving Formula-E, the exciting electric vehicle race formula.
When the world’s greatest cyclists came to Glasgow to compete across 13 UCI Cycling World Championships in the ultimate tests of talent, tenacity and toughness, Core Associates helped to make it happen. We worked with Glasgow Life to provide statutory approval across all Glasgow Life venues as well as Overlay Management, specifically the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, the Emirates Arena for the Track Cycling, Artistic Cycling and Cycle Ball, plus at Glasgow Green for the individual and team Trials, BMX freestyle and BMX flatlands.
The Formula-E meeting which we were involved with in London, had an amazing indoor/outdoor racetrack. These emission-free electric racecars can run indoors (and even in the ULEZ) which is why the World Indoor Speed Record was actually established at this event!.
So why is Core Associates involved in events like these?
Before any event can happen, additional Overlay needs to be undertaken to ensure the existing venue infrastructure and event spaces are compliant and fit for purpose for that specific event. As demonstrated by our involvement in the European Championships, UEFA 2020, Birmingham Commonwealth Games, UCI Cycling World Championship and Formula-E events (and our current work for a major forthcoming Paris event we can‘t mention here) we have the Core Skills necessary to help design and plan the transformation of venues into effective, efficient and vibrant event facilities capable of successfully handling major world-class events. Our overlay service can support the planning and delivery of a venue’s temporary infrastructure including marquees, shelters, huts, tents, cabins, power, utilities, fencing, flooring, lighting, wayfaring, signage, track structure and Field of Play equipment.
Our Core Skills, aligned thinking, varied experience and depth of knowledge across the team enable us to offer a service tailored to fit the needs of each client’s specific project requirements.
We are proud of our team and the relationships we’ve built with event organisers, venues, and local authorities over the years. We understand that every situation is unique and, through aligned thinking, we strive to provide a bespoke service that is flexible for each and every client.
