Core Associates places environmental and social sustainability at the core of our practice and professional responsibilities.
A key focus of the practice is to provide innovative and sustainable design solutions which are born from the challenges presented in our world today. With a drive to create more energy efficient designs within more sustainable and holistic communities we believe that we are making a valid and valued contribution to both the built and natural environments.
We believe in the development of design solutions that create buildings and spaces where materials, energy and other resources are used efficiently and where the impact on the natural environment is minimized. The key objective of sustainable design is to sensibly meet the needs of the present without exhausting resources that are critical to future generations.
Sustainable design is an integrated design process and requires the close co-operation of the whole project team, the architects, the engineers, the client and the builder at all project stages, from site selection, scheme formation, material selection and procurement, to project implementation and post project evaluation.
We believe in the value that can be added by us as architects and designers to the built environment as a whole given the urgent and growing focus of “carbon footprints” and “tagging” of building performance.
As architects, and with our clients, we are accountable for the environmental effectiveness and impact of the buildings which we design and build. We take this responsibility seriously.
