This report relates to a high level appraisal carried out to test the potential capacity of the Central Quay site at Anderston Quay (Broomielaw) in Glasgow. This site is in a prime area for fuller scale regeneration and it enjoys good pedestrian and vehicular links within the city and further afield too via the adjacent expressway and M8 / M74 / M77 motorways.

 

 

The proximity to the West End and the Hydro effect of the regenerating Finnieston area are also major local development influences.

 

 

Very high level site analysis has been carried out to support the development of sketch proposals for the site with potential PRS flatted blocks, a hotel and optional serviced apartments, decked car parking with storage pods for the overall development and a central mixed use amenity building.

 

 

The site is currently consented for predominantly office accommodation and with a layout that has been developed from a very historic masterplan proposal for the site which dates from the relocation of the Daily Record building to the adjacent site over 15 years ago.
